Homemade Natural Scrubs

These days it’s hard to find skin products without all the harsh chemicals, but luckily ingredients as close as your kitchen cupboard can act as natural skin care treatments to help keep your skin feeling and looking its best!
Honey & Lemon Sugar Scrub
Honey naturally retains moisture in the skin, keeping it soft and smooth, even in the upcoming winter months. Honey is also considered an anti-irritant, and can be used for even the most sensitive skin. Lemon, on the other hand, is an acid and will gently exfoliate dead skin cells, lighten age spots and keep your skin looking young and fresh.
The Mix
Mix 2 tbsp of honey with 1 tbsp of lemon juice and add 1 ½ tbsp of sugar in a large bowl; the sugar will add texture to the mix and act as an exfoliator, helping to slough off dry skin. This mixture can be used on the face, elbows, knees or any other dry spots you may have.
Epsom Salt Scrub
Many of us know that soaking in an Epsom salt bath helps relieve tired, sore muscles and ease stress, but Epsom salt can also be used in the crystal form to make a scrub for your whole body. This mineral compound in granular form exfoliates rough patches on the skin.
The Mix
Mix 2 tbsp of Epsom salt granules with 2 tbsp of olive oil and rub on dry patches of the skin, like knees and elbows. You can also add your favorite scented oil to this scrub for an aromatherapy effect. Lavender oil is a great scent to use and it helps to relieve stress and anxiety.
Baking Soda Scrub
Baking soda is one of the easiest to use exfoliators out there. Baking soda is just coarse enough to be able to remove the dead cells on the top layer of the skin without causing irritation. Individuals with acne have found that due to its properties as an exfoliant, baking soda helps alleviate their facial redness.
The Mix
Mix 1 tsp of baking soda with 1 tsp of water and apply to face; gently massage into skin for 1 minute and wash off.
SkinSave Anti-Aging Exfoliator™ is a natural skin care treatment for resurfacing and exfoliating facial skin to help remove dead skin cells.

This was definitely useful information. Too often times, companies really try to charge an exorbitant amount for products that will get the same results as above…>TY

I tried the honey sugar lemon scrub, it works! My skin feels soft and smooth after just one time of using it. and its free from my pantry. But can I use these as often as i want? Thanks native remedies.

Hi Marie,
Because this mixture is abrasive, even though it is a great natural exfoliator, I wouldn’t use it more than once every 5-7 days.
I’m glad you like the formula!

How long we do we leave it on? My face is really dry and sensitive….I suffer from mild rosacia.
