Flower Essences: A Perfect Complement to Holistic Living
While the concept of using flower essences may be new to many, they have been around since the 1930’s, when homeopath and English physician Edward Bach developed the original formulas from diluted flower materials to help address conditions such as depression and insomnia. Today, they are used for many of the same purposes.
What are flower essences?
Flower essences are based on the principle that optimum physical health can be achieved by creating emotional and spiritual balance, thus freeing the body and enabling it to function as it should. Flowers used in essences provide vibrational energies which help promote this internal harmony, and in turn facilitate therapeutic effects through the organic healing energy of the plant.
This may sound a bit “out-there” to those not familiar with this form of natural medicine, but keep in mind that many pharmaceuticals used today have plant derivatives or synthetic materials from agents originally derived from plants.
Further, simple physics has shown that we all possess fields of energy that create vibrations or energy fields that we cannot see via the naked eye, but are present in billions of molecules, atoms, electrons and even smaller particles. Flower essences thus use energy derived from similar natural forces of plants, and thus interact with our own subtle energies.
How long do they take to work?
Just like other natural remedies, some people report immediate improvement, while others see subtle changes over a few weeks. Be sure to choose essences that are formulated with high therapeutic standards to ensure safety and effectiveness. Incorporating flower essences with other healthy lifestyle habits will provide the best results.
