It’s Back to School Time! Tips for a Smooth Transition

Kids are rarely super excited to see the freedom of summer go on hiatus for another year, but many times this is due to apprehension about the upcoming school year, from handling homework assignments to interacting with teachers. However, natural remedies can make a big difference for kids of all ages!

Natural medicine works to create holistic balance in the body, some remedies may take 3-6 weeks for optimum results. Particularly for kids with ADHD or other learning and concentration disorders, getting your child started on an effective program now will help ensure a successful and happy semester!

Hyperactivity, distractibility and impulsiveness

For kids who struggle to sit still and focus, the classroom can become a place of dread. To fully overcome challenges like hyperactivity and distractibility, it is important not to view these symptoms in isolation, but to also take into consideration diet, exercise, and sleep routines. Studies have shown how making modifications to these influential factors can greatly improve symptoms.

In addition, when combined in therapeutic dosage, homeopathic remedies can provide even more support. Hyoscyamus (30C), Arsen iod (30C), Verta alb (30C) and Tuberculinum (30C) all have properties that help control disruptive behavior, from restlessness to irritability.

Exam anxiety

While some stress may actually help improve alertness, excessive exam anxiety can hinder performance. To ease this problem, help your child develop better study habits and test-taking skills, which can build confidence and quash fear. There are many resources available for this common problem, so try and target the areas that your child struggles with the most.

Time management is a big challenge for some students, but making an organized plan can make all the difference. Older students that have a handle on organization but still struggle from nerves may benefit from meditation or relaxation techniques.

In addition, students of all ages can benefit from natural remedies, which can provide soothing, safe and effective relief from exam anxiety without causing drowsiness or side effects. When combined in therapeutic dosage, Passion flower, Rosemary, Gotu cola, Anacardium (6C) and Gelsemium (6C) work together to calm nerves and support the brain and nervous system for optimum cognitive functioning.

Research shows that both ADD and ADHD are considered the same condition. Although the term ADD is still used by the public to identify a subset of ADHD, ADHD is the proper medical terminology for people with attention disorders whether they display signs of hyperactivity or not. In our posts when we use the term ADHD, we are also referring to ADD and vice versa.

    hi

My son is returning to school in September and has been on a break from Focus and Bright Spark. I now want to resume his treatments but am unsure if he will need the Adult formulas. He will be 14 shortly after his return and is 5 feet 5inches and weighs approx 9-10 stone(126-140 lbs).

    Thank you.

      Hi Fran,

We always recommend that remedies be taken consistently for best results. Since your son took a break, regardless of the remedy regimen you choose, optimal benefits may take effect within 3-6 weeks, so allow for some readjustment time.

Both Focus Formula and Focus ADDult have adult dosage instructions available on the product pages of our website (BrightSpark is suitable for all ages), so if you do wish to resume the Focus Formula, please take note of dosage instructions by age, as you may need to adjust this.

My 8 year old son attends a bilingual school overseas (where I am stationed because of my work) and even though his IQ is greater than average, we have serious problems with his attention deficit. We have extra school tutoring as well as Pedagogic help and since we began administering your Focus Formula (Jan 2010) we have seen a modest improvement. My wife and I are interested in knowing if there is something on top of that formula that could give him an extra help. We have him also taking a tremendous children’s multivitamin formula which also contains a probiotic balanced mix. He is of a great nature, not hyperactive and seems to be pretty good at (and he loves to) assembling complex things with legos and other creative raw material.

Any answer, please include a CC to my wife’s e-mail address: ana.p.huarcaya@gmail.com

    Thank You,

      Hi Robert,

We highly recommend BrightSpark to be used in conjunction with Focus Formula, http://www.nativeremedies.com/products/brightspark-hyperactivity-in-childrenB.html, a safe, non–addictive, natural remedy containing 100% homeopathic ingredients especially selected to relieve hyperactivity, distractibility and impulsiveness in children, especially those with learning disorders.

USING BRIGHTSPARK + FOCUS FORMULA TOGETHER

BrightSpark is a 100% homeopathic remedy – which means it addresses issues at a cellular level, and therefore it is best used for acute symptoms as they occur – helping to calm and facilitate concentration for fast-acting relief.

Focus Formula is a 100% herbal remedy – the properties of the active ingredients in the remedy (extracted using the Full Spectrum approach) get to work supporting the nervous system and the brain, helping to maintain and support stability in the body for long-term health.

Using herbal and homeopathic remedies together is therefore a powerful way to support health and effect healing at the same time, providing a sound platform to maintain consistent behavior, clear focus, and optimum performance – without risking side effects.
